Gujarat Ahmedabad 15 July 2024: Guru Poornima is to honour and acknowledge the invaluable contributions of gurus in imparting wisdom and values in our lives. On this auspicious occasion, &TV express heartfelt gratitude towards their gurus who have significantly influenced their lives. These include Rahul Jethwa (Awadh Bihari Vajpayee, Atal), Himani Shivpuri (Katori Amma, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Vidisha Srivastava (Anita Bhabi, BhabijiGhar Par Hai.Rahul Jethwa who plays Awadh Bihari Vajpayee in Atal, says, “While I am grateful to everyone who has guided me become a better person. I especially want to thank my dear brother Vishal. He inspired me to become an actor and helped me understand the craft, enabling me to perform for the audience. Today, I want to acknowledge that he is not just my brother and friend but also my Guru. His guidance and support have been instrumental in my journey as an actor, and I owe my success to him.”Â
Himani Shivpuri, known as Katori Amma in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, shares, “For me, my Guru will always be my father. His guidance and support have shaped who I am today. As a professor, he always emphasized that education is the most powerful tool one can possess and use for good. Even when I chose to pursue theatre after completing my education, he supported my decision and encouraged me to continue, even when I faced failure. He has been, and will always be, my greatest Guru.” Vidisha Srivastava, who plays Anita Bhabiin BhabijiGhar Par Hai,shares, “Honestly, naming just one Guru is difficult for me. I believe that we learn something from everyone we meet. It starts at home, where our parents instill good values in us, and our elders guide and correct us. I am thankful to my first school teacher, my dance teacher who taught me to express emotions through dance, my sister who inspired me to become an actor, and all the directors I worked with who helped me hone my craft. I thank them all on this Guru Purnima.”Â
