Celebrating Unity & Tradition: Grand Chetichand Procession in West Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT | 20th MARCH 2026 — On the auspicious occasion of Chetichand, Sindhis across the world came together in celebration of their rich cultural heritage and the birth anniversary of Lord Jhulelal. Marking the festive spirit in Ahmedabad, the Sindhi community in the western part of the city organized a vibrant and well-coordinated procession from Rajpath Club to Sindhu Bhavan Road.

The procession witnessed enthusiastic participation from people across all age groups, reflecting a beautiful blend of tradition, devotion, and community spirit. A grand idol of Lord Jhulelal led the procession, symbolizing faith and unity, while decorated trucks with live DJs added energy and vibrancy to the celebrations.

Participants performed the traditional Sindhi dance Chej, filling the atmosphere with cultural pride and joy. The event was not just a celebration, but a powerful expression of identity, togetherness, and shared values.

Special attention was given to ensure smooth traffic management throughout the route. The organizers successfully conducted the procession without causing any inconvenience to the general public, showcasing a strong sense of civic responsibility.

Adding to the spirit of inclusivity, members from non-Sindhi communities also joined the celebrations and extended warm wishes, highlighting Ahmedabad’s essence of unity in diversity.
