International Programme on Circular Economy, Sustainability and Enterprise Development Commences at EDII

Ahmedabad 13 November, 2024: Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad has launched the first-of-its-kind international programme on Circular Economy, Sustainability, and Enterprise Development, from November 6 2024. The programme, supported by ITEC (Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation) will continue till 19th November, 2024. 28 participants from 22 countries, representing government ministries and departments are deliberating on the significant topics of entrepreneurship, sustainability and economic growth.

As stated by EDII Faculty, Dr. Rajesh Gupta, Programme Director, “Circular economy and sustainable practices are drawing interest of countries across the globe. This is a course with uniquely designed pedagogy, focusing on sustainable practices and highlighting the role of entrepreneurship in ensuring economic growth on the premise of sustainability, both locally and globally. This unique course offers an in-depth understanding on the key aspects of circular economy, sustainability and enterprise development.”

As a tangible outcome of the programme, the participants will be empowered with knowledge and tools needed to implement circular economy principles in their respective nations. The course is divided into three modules, each covering vital aspects of sustainability and responsible enterprise development.

The modules include; Understanding Circular Economy; Integration of Circular Economy in Enterprises, and Sustainability and Enterprise Development.

Stakeholder responsibility, stakeholder engagement, and policy frameworks for promoting sustainable businesses will also be deliberated upon at length. Participants will also learn how to measure and report sustainability impacts.

EDII, under the aegis of ITEC Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, continues to extend a helping hand in building capacities of professionals from developing nations so that entrepreneurship, sustainable practices and skill development get a boost.
