Gandhinagar 16 November 2024: The 37th Bar Council of India National All India Inter-University Moot Court Competition, a prestigious event in the legal academic calendar, was inaugurated at Karnavati University’s Unitedworld School of Law (UWSL) on Saturday. The three-day competition, running from November 15-17, has brought together the brightest legal minds from universities nationwide to showcase their advocacy skills and legal acumen.
Justice Sanjay Karol, Judge of the Supreme Court of India, and Manan Kumar Mishra, Rajya Sabha MP and Chairman of the Bar Council of India, graced the inaugural ceremony.
In his inaugural address, Justice Sanjay Karol encouraged students to approach law with a sense of justice and responsibility.
“The law is a powerful tool for societal change. As future advocates, your role goes beyond courts. You will be the architects of a just society in the coming years,” he said.
In his keynote address, Manan Kumar Mishra inspired participants to embrace the challenges of the legal profession with dedication and resilience.
Delivering the welcome address, Ritesh Hada, President of Karnavati University, highlighted the importance of practical legal education.
“Moot courts are not just a platform to argue cases but a crucible where students develop critical thinking and advocacy skills. We welcome aspiring law students from universities from across the country and are confident that this event will go a long way in shaping the next generation of legal professionals,” he said and also extended a warm welcome to the esteemed dignitaries.
Prof. Dr. P. Lakshmi, Dean of UWSL, set the tone for the event, emphasising the role of events like moot court competitions in bridging the gap between theoretical learning and real-world practice.
The dignitaries also felicitated the participating teams. By hosting the national moot court competition, the Unitedworld School of Law represents its commitment to building a strong foundation for future lawyers to excel in the profession.
