🧩 Ahmedabad Family Completes 42,000-piece Jigsaw Puzzle to Set Record

AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT | 06th SEPTEMBER 2026 | In a unique feat, Ahmedabad’s Dalal family has completed a 42,000-piece jigsaw puzzle to set an Indian record for the Largest Jigsaw Puzzle Completed Collaboratively by a Family.
The family completed Educa’s Around the World jigsaw puzzle, which measures 749 × 157 cm (approximately 24.5 × 5.1 feet) when assembled. The achievement was formally verified by an adjudicator from the India Book of Records on Sunday, following which the family was presented with the official record certificate.
The puzzle was completed over several months by four members of the Dalal family — Saloni Dalal, Monil Dalal, Shanaya Dalal and Anaisha Dalal. The scale of the puzzle required the family to sort, arrange and assemble thousands of pieces across different sections before bringing them together to complete the full picture.
Speaking about the achievement, Saloni said, “Completing a 42,000-piece puzzle together was a very different experience from solving a regular jigsaw. It required a lot of patience and coordination, and there were many times when progress was slow. What kept us going was the fact that we were doing it together as a family. Having the achievement officially recognised by the India Book of Records makes the effort even more special for all of us.”
For the family, the project became a shared activity that involved sustained effort, coordination and patience over several months. Each member contributed to different stages of the process, from sorting and identifying pieces to assembling individual sections of the puzzle. The record verification marked the culmination of the family’s effort.
